Amy Katharine Marshall, RID
Owner and Principal Designer

Since establishing Locally Designed ‘85, Amy Marshall has collaborated closely with her clients to achieve a unique balance of classically modern interiors. Versatile with many different styles and aspects of both classic and modern design, she strongly believes that interiors should reflect the surrounding architecture and natural environment, and most importantly, the people inhabiting them.

Amy has been a designer for almost two decades and obtained her degree in Interior Design at Texas State University in San Marcus, just down the road from her native Austin, TX. She focused on learning much about interior architecture, the arts, and furniture design before moving back to Austin to work with the highly respected furniture dealership SKG. From there, experiences at SixthRiver and Polkinghorn Group Architects, with a tenure at the University of Texas at Austin, have given her a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of design, both for public and private sectors. In addition to Interior Design, Amy has extensive home staging and floral design experience, garnered from a few years spent living in New Orleans producing Weddings and Mardi Gras events. From FF&E specifying, to constructing full construction documents for permitting, to wedding floral production, Amy has honed her creative and technical skills to be able to tackle any design project.

LD85 has been commissioned to design many different types of commercial and residential spaces, frequently working with repeat clients, they enjoy partnering and collaborating with other design professionals and disciplines to curate design build teams that can work the most effectively at meeting their client’s goals.

From more formal public spaces, to classic Austin houses and casual beachfront homes, LD85 is known for their comprehensive and holistic approach to design, but they also believe that adherence to budget and schedule are as valued as design in measuring a project’s success.
